According to ESPN Senior Insider Adam Schefter, the Dallas Cowboys ARE trading for Pittsburgh WR George Pickens Jr, in exchange for draft pick compensation. The trade is expected to be finalized at some point today.
NBA PLAYOFFS AND NEWS.
The #1 seeded Cleveland Cavaliers, besotted by injuries to superstar PG Darius Garland, NBA Defensive Player of the Year Evan Mobley, and key reserve player De’Andre Hunter, valiantly fought through it all and lead almost all of Game 2, had their hopes shattered in a stunning 120-119 loss to the #4 seeded Indiana Pacers. Pacers PG Tyrese Haliburton hit the game winning 3-point shot with 1.1 seconds left, after missing his free throw, and somehow getting his own rebound.
Haliburton had 19 points in the game and led the team with 9 rebounds. SF Aaron Nesmith and C Myles Turner both led the team with 23 points. PG Andrew Nembhard led the Pacers with 13 assits.
Cavs star SG Donovan Mitchell had 48 points, 5 rebounds, and 9 assists.
Game 3 is Friday night, in Indianapolis, at 7:30 PM (EST) on ESPN.
Personally, I think the series is over. The injury bug has bitten the Cavaliers at the worst possible time to their key players.
The #7 seeded Golden State Warriors beat the #6 seeded Minnesota Timberwolves 99-88 in Game 1 of their Western Conference series.
Warriors’ superstar PG Stephen Curry left the game with a hamstring injury. See video below.
SG Buddy Hield led the team with 24 points. SF Jimmy Butler led the Warriors with 11 rebounds and 8 assists.
Game 2 is Thursday night, in Minneapolis, at 8:30 PM (EST) on TNT, truTV, and Max.
NHL STANLEY CUP PLAYOFFS.
The M3 Carolina Hurricanes got a big 2-1 overtime win against the M1 Washington Capitals last night, to take a 1-0 series lead.
D Jacob Slavin’s shot from the blueline, got through the screen and went five-hole, past G Logan Thompson at 3:06 to seal the game. See game winning goal below.
I still can’t believe it snuck through, but as all of us hockey fans know, anything can happen in The Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Game 2 is Thursday night, back in Washington, at 7:00 PM (EST) on ESPN.
The P3 Edmonton Oilers defeated the P1 Vegas Golden Knights 4-2, to take a 1-0 lead in their series.
Vegas RW Matt Stone scored 2 goals within the first 10 minutes to give the Knights a cushion, but a 3 goal third period by Edmonton dashed the hopes of the home crowd.

MLB NEWS.
The Cleveland Guardians split their double header with the Washington Nationals, losing Game 1 by a score of 10-9, but winning Game 2 with a dominate 9-1.
New York Yankees outfield Aaron Judge hit his 12th homerun of the year in a 12-3 win over the San Diego Padres.
The San Francisco Giants scored 9 runs in the 11th inning to beat the Chicago Cubs 14-5.

The #1 seeded Montreal Victoire take on the #3 seeded Ottawa Charge in a best of 5 semi-finals series.
