New York Giants 1st round pick, DE Abdul Carter, is still trying to figure out what number he will wear in the NFL.
His first choice was the iconic #56, that was worn and retired by NFL Hall of Famer Lawerence Taylor. Carter was denied by Taylor himself, telling him to “make his own mark instead”.
Next was the famed #11 worn by Hall of Famer Phil Simms. That was also Carter’s number at Penn State.
Simms said on FanDuel TV that he was open to the idea. Those hopes were short lived.
On Friday, Simms told New York Daily News writer Gary Myers that “he was outvoted by his family”.

Mexican boxing superstar Canelo Alvarez (63-2-2, 39 KO’s) became the undisputed 168-pound champion for the 2nd time in his illustrious career with the unanimous decision win over William Scull from Cuba.
The win sets up a massive superfight, between Alvarez and multi-title holder, American boxing superstar Terence Crawford (41-0-0, 31 KO’s).

The superfight is currently scheduled for September 12th, at Allegiant Stadium, in Las Vegas.
I absolutely cannot wait for this fight to happen. It’s been far too long, since us boxing fans have had a superfight.
